An oasis of peace and natural harmony

Blagaj is an oasis of peace and natural harmony located only three kilometers from Mostar Airport. Due to the proximity of the Adriatic Sea (about 45 km) and low altitude, the climate is Mediterranean with very long and hot summers. The average annual temperature is 17°C, and in summer 26°C.

In peace of the tekke courtyard, chilled by fresh river Buna, which looks like from a fairytale, you can  understand why Blagaj was the center of interest prehistory of people, Roman nobles, Ottoman vizier and judge, Austro-Hungarian officers and many travelers eager to find spring freshness, warmth of the sun and blue skies. Blagaj has a large number of sunny days, almost two hundred out of the year so it is therefore not surprising that some 170 species of birds inhabit this region. Among these, the most well-known is the griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus), a species facing extinction, which is not possible to see anywhere else in Bosnia and Herzegovina and it’s very rare in the whole region.

Ecologically clean and cold Buna River (8 ° C), has among the strongest sources in Europe (36 m3 / s) is ideal for growing the world-famous trout and other Mediterranean crops such as  grapes, figs, peaches, apricots, pomegranates, kiwi, and more.
