Botanical Garden Mozirski Gaj

Mozirski Gaj is one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Slovenia. It is not as big as many botanical gardens in other countries, but it is full of all the stunning colours and amazing smells that you can see in other parks.

It is not just flowers that wait for you here, diverse animals, amazing wooden structures and interesting exhibitions will make your day even more interesting and perfect.

Mozirski Gaj is divided into many different parts that are dedicated to diverse exhibitions – there is a Japanese garden, huge viewing tower, traditional mill, kid’s playground and many more. Temporary exhibitions are also offered here and they bring many different creatures to the park – from exotic animals to supermodels and designers.

You will feel perfectly relaxed from the first step into the botanical garden. The sounds of many birds, smells from colourful roses and tranquility await here.

Numerous wooden benches, placed in shadows of big trees are a perfect place to enjoy the peaceful nature of Mozirski Gaj. But it is not just nature what can be seen here.

Interesting buildings and small museums are also open for visitors. There is traditional farm storage house “Kašča” with some old farm tools. Another traditional farm object “Prevžitarka house” can also be seen in Mozirski Gaj, along with traditional furniture.

A water mill, sawmill, the oldest house from Mozirje, blacksmith house, bee house are just some of the interesting objects that can also be seen in this amazing botanical garden.
