The Botanic Gardens in Zurich are some of the most extensive ones that I have ever visited. Maybe it is possibly because they are affiliated with the University of Zurich and are not a private organization. Either way they are very lush and feature an extensive collection of plant species from around the world. Spanning over 53,000 m2, the Botanical Gardens have an impressive collection of over 9000 different plant species. With so many plant species to be seen, this means that no matter the season that you visit the Botanical Gardens in, some plants will definitely be in bloom. There is also a large pond and the gardens are so perfectly maintained by some very eager students out there. Unlike other botanical gardens that are just for show so visitors can see, the Botanical Gardens in Zurich are actually working gardens that have produce in them. This is a great place to visit to just get away from the busier pace of city life and just be among nature.
