The Breisach – Ruin Eckartsberg is situated on a mountain that lies south of the old town of Breisach. From here you have a breathtaking view of the town of Breisach, the Münsterberg and the Market Square. Many centuries ago on this hill stood a small castle and a small monastery. Now the ruin is freely accessible at all times for the visitors. Here you will find also an obelisk, which in the year 1856 as a memorial was established. The obelisk is to recall that Breisach and Breisgau in 1806. Other features of the ruins are the European flag and the European light.
