Breisach which is first of the towns of Europe and declared through the votes of the people at the time in 1950s.The landmark of the town of Breisach Europe is the St. Stephan Cathedral. It sits high above the city and the Rhine and is already visible from afar. The construction period from the 12th to the 15th century leading to the commonality of Romanesque Gothic elements can be seen by the visitors and feast upon its unique history. Although the 2nd World War badly damaged some parts of it but was restored to as original as possible where inside major works done by some of the greatest artists of their time still remain.
