Baroque Church of Mary and Joseph’s Engagement was built between 1677 and 1686 on the hill above Kamnik, next to the city cemetery. It was renovated in the 19th century and during the renovations baroque frescoes were also restored and the interior is one of the most beautiful church’s interiors in Kamnik.
Church of Mary and Joseph’s Engagement is well worth visiting as many interesting objects lie around it. You will be able to see smaller chapels and a small church a few meters up the hill from the church.
Take your time and walk to this chapel as well, as it offers quite nice views over the church and to the Mali grad castle. Its quirky design is also an interesting sight.
When you walk up the hill to the Church of Mary and Joseph’s Engagement you will see an astonishing monument – a huge hand holding a cross. This is a monument dedicated to the victims of the World War I. You can also see some unique gravestones of the soldiers in the cemetery next to the church.
Church is located on a small hill, next to the Kamnik cemetery. It is almost parallel to the Mali Grad Castle.
