This cold war tunnel in Gjirokaster, Albania had been built by the Albanian communists during the 1960s. The main task of this place was to detain political prisoners (people who were against the government). The tunnel was kept as secret for the locals until the early 1990s. This tunnel/bunker has around 80 rooms and a capacity for up to 300 people. Nowadays the tunnel is turned into tourist attraction and many tour guides give tours.
