The tropical forest for hikers

El Yunque National Forest, Puerto Rico

An amazing place for adventure, El Yunque is an incredible rainforest where various hiking trails are available for the average adventurer.

Every trail varies in difficulty, but each one leads to a great relaxation spot and some to an incredible mountain-top view that oversees parts of the island and the ocean. Some trails lead to waterfalls, where many hikers can partake in swimming in the pool below the cool cascading water.

Various picnic spots are available for stopping and resting along the way along with shelters if any unfortunate inclement weather dawns on the day.

All hikers will have the chance to spot animals native to the island in their natural habitat.

Not all the trails can be hiked in a day, but with a proper permit a hiker can camp in the forest for up to two weeks and get the full experience of living in a rainforest.
