Giessbach Waterfall

A Swiss waterfall, falling over 500 meters, is truly a sight to see.

The hotel has a restaurant with great views of the lake and the waterfall.
There is a walkway that leads under the waterfall!

The world famous Giessbach Waterfall tumbles reach Lake Brienz.

From the lake, you can take a short funicular ride up to Grand Hotel Giessbach (about 100 meter above the lake)

A path (not suitable for a trolley) goes upwards from the hotel along the stream. It takes about an hour-long hike (round trip) to get to the top.

Afterwards, you can eat at the hotel’s restaurant and admire the views. Then hike for thirty mintues on a paved road down to the lake.

The entrance to Giessbach Waterfalls is free. Those who arrive with a car must pay for parking.

How to get there

Take the Swiss SBB trains to the stop Brienz. Then take bus 252 to the stop Brienz BE, Abzw. Giessbach.
