In July and August, the water flow is totally natural and depends on the weather. Rain and high temperatures (mostly at the beginning of summer) increase the volume of the torrent. After a storm, the flow is exceptional and can be very impressive.
In June and September, the water flow is much feebler as it is controlled by EDF (Electricité de France) who turbines the water and pours it out again below the trail path.
Within the framework of an agreement with EDF, some days in June have normal flow rates. If you wish to visit the gorges in order to see the immense cascades, you should contact us to know the days when the damn will be open.
