Deep in the woods, away from the city life, Kamniška Bistrica is one of Slovenia’s natural water reserves. With many roads for hiking and a beautiful lake, where water flows directly from the mountains, this land is under protection and offers many opportunities for those eager to hike or just relax and enjoy nature’s wonders.
This lake is a natural wonder and swimming is forbidden, however, the deep blue crystal water is drinkable. Keep in mind, it is freezing cold also during warm temperatures. There are small water falls above the lake in summer and right next to it there is a route for all those eager to hike. The hike can last up to 2 days, eventually you will reach a place suitable to set up camp.
It is definitely worth the trip. There are many other roads to hike close by, and other natural wonders. However, you will need a car to get around.
By car.
