A dismantled medieval fortress, built by the Crusaders in the early 12th century CE

Atlit, Israel
ME cuisine in nearby Haifa.
A Hat, good walking shoes, water, camera and goodwill are essentials for a fruitful visit.

We pass the important crusader castle of Château Pèlerin (Atlit) then head to the nearby remains of the castle of Le Destroit in The Kingdom of Jerusalem.

Le Destroit is a dismantled medieval fortress, built by the Crusaders in the early 12th century CE, located near the town of AtlitIsrael. When the larger Chateau Pelerin was completed in 1218, Le Destroit was dismantled by the Crusaders so that it couldn’t be used by the Muslim enemy as a staging ground for an attack on the main castle.
