When you stroll through the medieval core of Škofja Loka, you can’t miss the Mark of Mary column, located on the Upper town square (Mestni trg), opposite of the Old Town Hall.
Originated from 1751, Mark of Mary is a Baroque monument with a pedestal in the form of an altar and 3 statues. It was erected in gratitude for prevention from fire and plague.
At a short distance from Mark of Mary column, you can also find the Stone Fountain, secluded between the trees. The Stone Fountain was built in 1883 and it’s still in use today by thirsty strollers.
