It is located 50 kilometers away from the city of Cuzco and close to the village of Maras, famous for its Salineras de Maras. Today, it remains a mystery what exactly was the purpose of Moray and its unusual structure but many hypothesize it was used to study the effects of different climatic conditions on crops due to the fact that the location, the wind and depth of the ruins create different temperatures.
