Omis is a small coastal town in the heart of Dalmatia, at the mouth of the river Cetina.
Omis location is at the place where the emerald-green Cetina River goes into the Adriatic Sea. It’s the center of Dalmatian traditional music with popular festival of music. The main economic activity of Omis, as well as the entire region is tourism. Tourists can use a large number of beds in hotels and private accommodation.
In the Middle Ages, during the 12th and 13th centuries, the city was ruled by family Kacic, who were leaders of gangs of pirates. Pirates led the attacks on the galleons and merchant ships.
Highway Zagreb- Split, exit Dugopolje, use road to an intersection Solin where is the signpost "Omis", from the intersection use state road D-8 and after 30-35 km you will come directly to Omis.
