Osijek is a city in eastern Croatia. Located in a valley on the right bank of the river Drava. The largest city in Slavonia, the fourth largest city in Croatia, and the seat of the Osijek-Baranja County. The city is an industrial, administrative, judicial and cultural center. Osijek is a city with the most green and green areas in Croatia; in the city are located 17 parks with a total area of 394,000 m².
Osijek Tvrdja Fortress is a baroque castle-fortress of the 18th century, and with it began the transformation of the current older historic town which stood at a key strategic crossing over the river Drava. It’s the first new city-fortress built in the great strategic baroque system of fortified towns on the border with the Ottoman Empire, which was from 1712, conceived and built by Prince Eugene of Savoy.
