A perfect spot to enjoy relaxing afternoon

Carrer de l'Hospital, 56, 08001 Barcelona, Spain
Grab a cup of freshly squeezed juice or a fruit salad on La Boqueria - which is meters away - and enjoy a snack right in the garden!
If you see no free benches, don't be shy to take a seat on the stairs or beneath a stone obelisk in front of the school's entrance.

Whenever you feel like escaping from the crowd bustling around La Rambla, turn to Carrer de l’Hospital – and move towards the house number 56. The sign read “Escola Massana” – which is an art school – but you don’t have to be an alumnus to enter the beautiful patio hidden behind a stone arch.

Its picturesque garden has become a local favorite – it is surprisingly quiet; even bearing in mind occasional chatter from the school’s students. You’d find locals snacking, or simply enjoying a rare moment of tranquility on one of the few benches. Just by the entrance El Jardí, a pleasant café, serves fixed lunch menu, drinks and simple tapas.
