Pforzheim is a beautiful and modern town located in the southwest state of Baden-Württemberg. This town is famous for its watch and jewelry industries., which is the primary reason for why it is unofficially called “Goldstadt”, meaning “golden city”.
Pforzheim is located between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart, where three rivers (Nagold, Enz and Würm) meet.
During World War II, Pforzheim was bombed several times by the Royal Air Force. As a result, nearly 17,600 people were killed and 83% of its buildings were completely destroyed. The Allies thought that this town was the German Army’s weapon-production. After the war was over, Pforzheim was rebuilt with newer and more moden look.
