Where the fourth Peace of Pressburg was signed, ending the War of the Third Coalition

Primaciálne námestie 1, 811 01 Bratislava-Staré Mesto, Slovakia

The Primate’s Palace (“Primaciálny palác”) is located in the heart of the Old Town of Bratislava. Completed in 1781 for the Archbishop, it took over a century to be constructed and it feautures a neoclassical style. Today, it is the seat of the Mayor.

The Hall of Mirrors is perhaps the most famous place in the palace. It was here where the fourth Peace of Pressburg was signed, ending the War of the Third Coalition after the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805. The hall was also used, according to some sources, for lectures and author evenings between the world wars. Today, the hall is where the Bratislava Council meetings take place.

In 1903, a reconstruction took place and six tapestries from the 1930s that show the legend of the Hero and Leander were found behind a wall.
