Rietberg is a quite unknown, yet beautiful town in North Rhine-Westphalia, close to the bigger towns of Gütersloh. The easiest way to reach it if you are not driving is to head to Gütersloh, which has many connections from bigger towns such as Düsseldorf and Cologne.
The main sight in Rietberg is the Town Hall, located right in the center of the town and built in 1800. A walk next to the river is also quite a delight and there are many other interesting places such as the chapel of St John and the Court House. In itself, the town is the main sight, as walking around its quiet streets and admiring all the old, crooked houses is a great way to really experience Germany.
Schützenfests take place here, as well as the five villages that surround Rietberg.
