The Crown Regency Cebu is a hotel in the middle of downtown Cebu City. At 140 meters above ground, it is the tallest building in Cebu. In fact, it is currently the Philippines’ tallest building outside Metro Manila. Aside from offering accommodations, Crown Regency has a Sky Experience Adventure which is open to both locals and tourists, whether guests or not of the hotel.
The Sky Experience is a sort of amusement park on. It is a collection of attractions on the hotel’s 35th to 38th floors. In total, the hotel has 40 floors.
One of the most popular attractions is the Edge Coaster. It is a two-seater coaster that slowly revolves around the edge of the 38th floor. Riders can control the tilt angle of the coaster. The recommended tilt angle is 55 degrees. This will give riders not only a spectacular view of the city but also one memorable experience!
The Sky Walk is another popular feature. It is located on the hotel’s 37th floor, which is about 126 meters above ground. It is a ten to fifteen minute walk on the glass floor around the edge of the hotel. The floor can hold upto 5000 pounds or approximately 2268 kilograms so it is very stable.
Guests wear an orange jumpsuit and harness and then are guided by a staff member. The staff also serves as the photographer and will suggest sitting on the edge of the floor and standing by the edge with one foot dangling in the air. You can see the Fuente Osmeña Circle on the street, which is the iconic rotunda on the main street of the city.
At the end of the Sky Walk, participants are given certificates and the option to buy the photographs taken by the staff member. While waiting, guests can admire the view from the Sky Observatory and take their own pictures.
The Tower Zip is a short motorized zip line from the Tower 1 building to the Tower 3 building of the hotel. It is the first and only urban zip line in the country. From Tower 3, participants can go back to Tower 1 via the Sky Lift. It is a relaxing cable car ride.
The Vertex is a 30-foot pole that is nearly 600 feet above ground. It is the Sky Adventure’s highest structure. Participants climb the pole and get a magnificent 360-degree view of the city.
The Cliff Hanger is a climbing wall placed 7 feet from the edge of the building. It makes climbers feel like they are climbing and rappelling down a mountain.
One of the most recent additions to the Sky Experience Adventure is the Paramount Climbing Wall. It is a wall climbing activity 468 feet from the ground. As such, it is considered as the world’s first climbing wall atop a 40-storey building. The Paramount Climbing Wall gives climbers the illusion of climbing a mountain while enjoying a city view.
Although the rides are collectively called the Sky Experience Adventure by the hotel, participants can choose which rides they want to go for.
