Catedral de la Inmaculada Conception, Padre Aguirre, Cuenca, Ecuador

The main cathedral in Cuenca’s official name is Catedral de la Inmaculada Conception, but it is better known simply as “Cuenca Cathedral.”


Located in front of Parque Calderon, the cathedral t serves the city as a Catholic temple and is visited by hundreds of devoted Catholics and tourists every week.


Its architecture style is Gothic and its construction began in the year 1885, but wasn’t finished until 1975, almost a hundred years later.
