The Matterhorn is the most well-known summit in the Alps. It stands 4,478 meters high which makes it one of Switzerland’s highest mountain peaks. Its summit is not on that is easily scaled because of its technically challenging proportions. Despite this or maybe because of this, mountaineers still troop to the township of Zermatt to take a chance at reaching the top. The mountain overlooks the town of Zermatt, or village as the locals like to call it, and from the town, you can enjoy amazing views of the mountain from multiple angles.
