Take a local boat into the depth of the Amazonas

Rio Coca, Ecuador

Coca is the closest city to the Amazon Rainforest and it’s port, named puerto Francisco de Orellana, but usually simply called “Puerto de Coca” is where local boats leave the city into the Amazonas. If you’re looking for a genuine adventure and not simply an organized tour, head here. Boats will sail over Coca River or Napo River and both journeys usually last three or four days.
