Yardenit: Our last stop today is at the official Baptismal site, Yardenit.

Here, at the southern exit of the Sea of Galilee, the water flows from the Sea into the Jordan River, eventually reaching the Dead Sea.

This site is believed by some traditions to be the actual site where Yeshua was baptized by Yochanan (John the Baptist – Matthew 3:13 “Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John“).

Many Christian pilgrims groups stop at this site and perform baptism ceremonies, accompanied by their pastor. It is a beautiful serene site – and should not be missed.

There are modern facilities to cater for the pilgrims at the site including a restaurant and a fine souvenir shop.
