Visitors can enjoy tropical rainforests such as the Masoala Rain Forest and an enormous biosphere; both of which are unique experiences, considering that you are in Zurich were tropical lushness is unexpected. You can also experience the penguin parade, a daily showcase, the Madagascar pavilion or the elephant house. Activities are suitable for all age ranges and the facilities are well appointed for kids in particular. However for the night time, guests can book events for special and unique experiences that include adventure tours, cocktail events or what is called the Flying Dinner. One of the special events features an Elephant Park, a Thai Lodge for event gatherings, cocktails and banquets all in the company of Indian elephants.
The elephant park, where their six elephants are free to roam within the exhibit and socialize with each other. It also provides them with watering holes for swimming and bathing. For the animal keepers, it provides them to take care of the elephants without having to be in the same enclosure through a method known as “protected contact.” This allows the elephants to maintain their social structure without interference from animal keepers.
This is one of the largest exhibits the zoo has to offer, measuring at an area of 11,000 m2, and offers the elephants six times as much room as their previous enclosure.
