Top Activities For A Rainy Virginia Beach Day

Did you come to VA Beach hoping for a day in the sun only to be greeted by the crash of thunder?  Are you visiting on the off-season to avoid crowds?  Don’t worry there is still plenty to do and see in the Hampton Roads area even when it is raining.
 

1. The Virginia Aquarium

The aquarium hours are from 9 to 5.  They are open every day!  At the aquarium, you can see sharks, otters, seals and you can even pet a stingray!  There are guides around to answer any questions you may have about the animals.  There is also an adventure park at the aquarium where you can climb on ropes and up trees!
 
Food options include the Theater Snack Stand or the Otter Snack Bar.  There is also a cafe that has sandwiches, salads, and dessert.
 

2. Military Aviation Museum

Have you ever wanted to see planes that flew in World War I?  Here you will find hangers dedicated to the four branches of the US military.   Try and coordinate your visit with an airshow!  The museum is open from 9-5 every day.
 

3. Children’s Museum

The Children’s museum is in Portsmouth VA and is a great place for kids to get out energy.  The museum is two floors and is closed on Monday’s.  There is a train exhibit and a planetarium!  There are fun activities throughout the week so that everyone can stay happy!
 

4. Escape Room Virginia Beach

Can you solve the mystery and break out in 60 minutes?  There are 4 stories to choose from such as “The Traveling Crook” or the “Tides take back.”  The rooms are sorted by the number of players and level of difficulty.  Group rates are also offered!
 

5. Mini Golf

There are a lot of places for mini-golf at the beach.  King Neptune’s Mini Golf is 3D and played inside using black lights!  There are ten holes and it’s fun for the whole family!  At $7 a person, you can afford to go more than once.
 

6. Trampoline Park

The Sky Zone Trampoline Park is a very fun place for the whole family.  After buying a pair of “sky socks” you can jump for up to two hours!  There are dodgeball, a foam pit, and even a dark zone.  If you sign up online then you can get a discount and sign the waiver ahead of time.
