The Magic City in the south of Florida is well-known for its thriving nightlife. With activities ranging from nighttime tours to nightclubs and more, Miami is the place to be for the ultimate in nightlife experiences.
1. Art Walk
Art allows us to explore the world and view it in ways we didn’t before. In Miami, you can make an evening of it at one of several venues. Coral Gables and Wynwood Art District both offer free admission on certain nights, while the Miami Design Preservation League offers a guided tour on Thursday nights.
Purchasing a GoMiami Card will allow you to take advantage of many of the city’s finest attractions, including the guided art tours. Times vary from venue to venue, so be sure to double check with your preferred venue for times.
2. Coconut Grove
[rel_attraction_big_picture title=”Coconut Grove”]
Hailed as the “original neighborhood” of Miami, Coconut Grove was founded in 1873 and continues to be a thriving part of the Magic City today. Enjoy a historic tour, take in the local village market, or plan an evening of fashion, art, and music. The Fashion + Art + Music Night is a monthly event held on the first Saturday for all to enjoy.
The district prides itself on cultural tourism and promotes the history of its neighborhood. Various events are held throughout the year to celebrate these important aspects, so be sure to check out the Coconut Grove website for date-specific events.

The DJ is king at the Mokai Lounge, where guests can enjoy a variety of alcoholic beverages from the grand showcase bar that serves as the focal point of the Mokai. You can relax on against the brick walls, rest your feet on the wooden ottomans, and enjoy the atmosphere of the club, which has been described as reminiscent of Lord of the Rings.
The Mokai Lounge is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Cover charge is between $30 and $50, depending on the day of the week, so be sure to call ahead.
Liv Nightclub at Fountainbleu is considered the ultimate in Miami nightclub experiences. The open floor plan allows a view of some of the more famous of the club’s patrons. A variety of music is featured during its four night a week run.
Cover charge runs between $40 and $50 for Liv, although it can go higher for certain events held at the club. Liv offers VIP tables, private skyboxes, full-service bars, and a large dance floor. Come join the party Wednesday night, or Friday through Sunday.
Buzzed as the social hangout place to see, Skybar features something new each week. Featured guests, up and coming DJs, and specialty cocktails make the Skybar a one-of-a-kind experience. Skybar is made up of two areas: Redroom Garden and Rumbar. The Rumbar is located between the pools and serves 75 different rums. Redroom Garden was conceived as an outdoor living room and is landscaped with tropical plants.
Skybar opens at 4 p.m each day, with closing times varying by day. Check the website for more information on closing times and weekly events.
7. Pub Crawl
A popular way to explore a city these days, pub crawls also provide an economically friendly way to do so. If a nightclub isn’t your thing but you’d still like to get out and socialize with other tourists and locals, a pub crawl might be perfect for you. Miami provides multiple options for this. Food Tours of Miami offers an “Out and About” pub crawl through the Coral Gables neighborhood, while Pub Crawl Miami offers a cheap night out through South Beach. World Crawl Miami brings an all-inclusive experience, and Last Call Pub Crawl is perfect for a late night out.
Whatever your pub crawl goals, Miami has something to offer everyone.
8. Sunset and Night Photography Workshop
The best way to commemorate an event is through photos, and the Sunset and Night Photography Workshop is a fantastic opportunity to capture the nightlife of Miami. The two-hour workshop will help you hone your skills if you’re a practicing photographer, or help you get a beautiful view of Miami at night if you’re a hobbyist or new. All you’ll need is a camera, a tripod, and maybe a few different lenses.
This event is only available on certain dates, so be sure to check the events page for Miami for further details and to reserve your spot.
9. Nighttime Jeep Tour
While different tours are available throughout the city, none are as inclusive as the nighttime Jeep Tour offered by Tons of Fun Tours. Visit locations such as Downtown Miami, Bayfront Park, the Art Deco District, and the Miami Tower in a stretch convertible Jeep, rather than on foot or packed into a tour bus.
You’ll learn all about the culture and get a front row seat for the city at night during this unique, open-air tour. Be sure to visit the Tons of Fun Tours website for specifics on times, pricing, and group packages.
10. Actors Playhouse

If escaping the buzz of Miami’s active city feel is something you’re looking for, taking in a show at the Playhouse, one of the most beloved theaters in Miami, is an excellent way to do so. Conveniently located in Coral Gables, the Actors Playhouse is the perfect destination for a relaxing, art-filled night out.
