Balzer Herrgott

Balzer Herrgott, near Gütenbach in the Black Forest, is a famous Christ figure made out of sand stone that was overgrown by a tree. For almost several decades, the tree has been now is called the “Lord God Angel” or “Blazer Lord God”. It has become a destination for many walkers, hikers and a much visited pilgrimage destination. The origin of the Balzer Herrgott figure is not very clear and has many different theories and explanations.
