A church dedicated to St. Leonard in Kropa

Address of the presbitery in Kropa:
Kropa 71
4245 Kropa
A cozy family inn Pr' Kovač (meaning At the Blaksmith's) is a great local restaurant with traditional dishes from Slovenia and Kropa. A wine cellar with great Slovenian wines is located in the basement. An inn is open every day, except on Mondays from 10:00 to 23:00.
Visiting the graveyard which is located next to the church is a great proof of how important iron forging tradition in Kropa was.

The Church of St. Leonard stands on the northwest side of Kropa. It is designed in a traditional baroque style with a beautiful interior filled with paintings from different Slovenian artists such as Matija Bradaš, Leopold Layer, Ivana Kobilica and Matevž Langus. Also to note are the beautiful altars created by Peter Žiwobski.

The church is surrounded by a cemetery, which is a beautiful yet slightly morbid place to explore the artistic iron forged pieces and the numerous monuments decorated with tiny iron items that serve as another example of how big of an influence this craft had on the villagers.

The Church of St. Leonard is also a great starting point for many hiking routes.

Opening hours

How to get there
