Congregational Church of St. Nicholas in Vrsac is the main and the largest Orthodox church in Vrsac, located next to the seat of the Bishop’s Palace of Banat Eparchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Congregational Church in Vrsac is the central church of diocese. Congregational Church in Vrsac was built in the period 1728-1785 at the time of Bishop Nicholas Dimitrijevic. The iconostasis was painted by Pavel Djurkovic and Aksentije Markovic has done woodcarving works. The murals and vault are painted by Simeon Jaksic and Mihajlo Popovic. Nikola Neskovic is creator of icons. One of the most respected painters from this region Paja Jovanovic donated to the temple two extremely valuable, in the artistic and aesthetic sense paintings of Saint Nicholas and Saint Angelina.
