Djakovo cathedral with the full name Cathedral of St. Peter’s is a basilica in neo-Romanesque style in city of Djakovo, seat of Djakovo-Osijek Archdiocese.
Djakovo cathedral at the time of building (1866-1882) was the largest Croatian sacral building, 74 m long, 27 m high, in the transept 52 meters wide, with two towers, 84 m high, and a dome of 59 m (this was the most impressive dome in Austro Hungary Empire).
The whole idea of Djakovo cathedral was project of Croatian bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer, who later buried inside of cathedral.
