A Desert Safari is one of the most exciting things to do when you are visiting UAE. Covering 225 square kilometers of total area, the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve is the first national park in UAE. Long back it was a massive camel farm, but in the year 1993, Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum bought it and planned to transform it into a natural reserve. His efforts can be now seen and this place is a perfect desert habitat preserving the fauna and flora of Dubai.

Since, it is a natural reserve; the first priority is to conserve the habitat. Thus, the land is divided into different zones. Some zones are kept secluded and entry is not permitted in those zones. Visitors are allowed in the permitted zones under the supervision of tour guides. For this purpose, four tour operators are appointed who undertake the activity of day visits and tours across the park. You can get information of these tour operators on the official website.

The Reserve is unique and different from other attractions in the country and is sure to leave you impressed. There are various options offered to tourists to enter this spectacular reserve which in itself seems to be a different world. You can choose to take a drive in a comfortable four wheeler which will save you from the heat. Visitors can also opt for camel trekking which is an adventurous option and they can catch hold of picturesque sand dunes. Venturesome people prefer going on foot and stop at various places thus enjoying every single detailing in the reserve.

Spotting deadly falcons is easy in the area and there is a falconer who beautifully describes these creatures, giving out every detail about them. They are an expert at grabbing everybody’s interest and you will find yourself getting indulged in the discussion. You can also enjoy horse riding while seeing different sites. You can try your hands at riding them fast, taking care that you do not fall off. A simple trotting and walking will also give you a thrilling experience.

One of the most striking activities to be done at the reserve is archery. Travelers get enthralled on releasing the arrows from traditional curved bows.  It will be an experience of a lifetime and you will be left contented. You will also be able to spot many animal herds while driving through the dunes. An exemplary display of flora and fauna will leave you speechless.

Tourists can have a great time by getting indulged in sand boarding. All you need to do is put your best foot forward, grab your sand board and slide through the dunes. After all these activities, you can head towards a private spot for a romantic dinner with your partner. A secluded spot in a vast desert expanse and delectable food, what more do you desire?

Exquisite royal services are offered to travelers willing to spend their nights at the reserve. The Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa, the only resort in the place gives you an opportunity to live a typical Arabian lifestyle for a night. It has luxury suites for a comfortable stay. The resort also arranges a 5-hour desert safari for its guests. It also has a spa which gives rejuvenating services to the guests.

There is much more for you to witness at The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. Come here and have a thrilling adventure in nature’s lap.
