The museum is unbelievably traditional and astonishing. It will make you feel as if you have stepped into an entirely different world. Having a charisma way different from all other attractions in Dubai, this museum depicts the story of ancient Dubai.

The walls, floors, decors all have a perfect historic flavour. At the entrance to the museum, you can spot two cannons. A large ‘dhow’ (traditional boat) is showcased in the centre of the museum’s courtyard beneath which is a gallery. The central courtyard has some of the finest structures including an old style summer house called ‘Arish’, traditional house models, historic boats and wells.

The galleries are housed underneath the large courtyard and visitors have to climb down winding stairs and can witness the lifestyle people followed in ancient Dubai. The galleries showcase historic artifacts as well as local antiques. People can see various dioramas depicting the dressing culture of ancient men and women of Dubai. You are sure to get awestruck by looking at the musical instruments displayed in the galleries. Drums, bagpipes, flutes are all displayed beautifully in the galleries. Various deadly ancient weapons like swords, spears, arrows etc are exhibited. The lifestyle of people before the advent of oil in Dubai is depicted beautifully in a particular section of the galleries. There are replicas of craftsmen, vendors, merchants which depict trading and businesses in old time. The walls are all filled with illustrations providing details about the history of Dubai. The gift shop just before the exit gate helps visitors in picking up items of interest for their peers and also for themselves.
