More info: Iguazu Falls, in Iguazu River, are one of the world's largest waterfalls. The name "Iguazu" comes from the Guarani or Tupi words "y", meaning "water", and "ûasú "[waˈsu], meaning "big". The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. The Iguazu River rises near the city of Curitiba. It flows through Brazil for most of its course. Iguazu Falls are on the border between the Brazilian state of Paraná and the Argentine province of Misiones, and are surrounded by two National Parks (BR/ARG). Both are subtropical rainforests that are host to hundreds of rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. There are two international airports close to Iguazú Falls.
