Lovely people, rich culture, exotic beauty of nature, white deserted beaches of uninhabited tiny islands, giant lizards and more are just some of the few things you’ll find here.

Flores is the only island in Indonesia with a Latin name to it – Flores means “Flowers” but we do not know what the Portuguese had in mind back in the 16th century when they named the island

The island, whose eastern part was the base of Portuguese navy base, is rugged, hilly, mountainous, and highly volcanic. In fact, there are eight volcanoes, and half of them are still active. In the foot of volcanoes there seated villages where you can still find the practice of indigenous belief system albeit over 85% Florians are Roman Catholic adherents.

To explore Flores you would need at least 3 or 4 days. And, to best enjoy and experience, stay 6 or seven days to explore both Flores and the Komodo National. There is a growing trend for those who love adventure tours to do 8 to 9 days.
