Located inside a Landscape park, the beauty of the castle can be seen not only in its structure, but also in its breath-taking natural surroundings

Piastów Śląskich 1, 58-306 Wałbrzych, Poland

Książ is a castle located in Wałbrzych in Poland. Located in Książ Landscape park, it was finished in 1292. In recent years, the castle has received a lot of attention due to the beauty of the structure as well as its breath-taking natural surroundings and has become one of Poland’s most popular attractions.

The castle was destroyed in 1263 by Ottokar II of Bohemia and a new castle was built some decades after. Over the years, the castle was owned by many different people and it was again destroyed in 1482 by Georg von Stein.

The new castle, again, was seized and owned by different figures. A notable seizing was that by the Nazi government in 1944 and became part of the Project Riese until it was occupied by the Red Army a year later.
