The country’s history from the Stone Age to the present day is represented in an exciting way Landesmuseum Württemberg. The museum was founded in 1862 by King William I as “Staatssammlung Vaterländischer Altertümer”. The main location of the museum is the Castle in Stuttgart however, some collections can also be found in the nearby cellar and New castle. The collections are divided into three different groups:
Archeology collections can be found in New Castle which include Bronze Age, Paleolithic, Iron Age, Neolithic, Early Middle Ages, Antiquity, Antique Glass, Romans in Württemberg and the Roman lapidarium are located history of art and cultural can be found in Granary that include: Württemberg crown jewels, clocks and scientific instruments, medieval art, art chamber of the Württemberg rulers, modern glass painting, modern era glass and musical instruments. Folklore (located at the Museum of Everyday Culture in Waldenbuch Castle): clothing, labor, culture of living belief and piety, merchandise, graphic design.
