Mineral Museum in Oberwolfach

The Mineral Museum Oberwolfach was inaugurated in April 1989 and became a highlight of the area. It is still continuously growing to attract a bigger number of visitors. The highlight of the exhibitions is Clara Mine, which is the only working mine in Black Forest today.

More than 350 different minerals are found here and almost all of them are shown in the museum. Seventeen of these minerals, such as Rankachit, Benauite, Clarait, were found for the first time ever in the world  here. A model is set for visitors to educate themselves about the nature, structure and dimensions of the mine.
