Come see the history of our nation's currency at the Museum of American Finance

48 Wall St New York, NY

New York City has some of the most incredible museums in the world. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The American Museum of Natural History, and The Guggenheim are just a few of the amazing museums you should see while you are in the city. But if you are interested in seeing a museum that is a little bit different, you should head down to Wall Street and check out the Museum of American Finance.

You can see their collection of American currency, including bills from the Colonial era and huge denominations such as the $10,000 bill. They have a tribute to Alexander Hamilton (and to make the trip complete, you can walk from the museum to Trinity Church and see the gravestone of Mr. Hamilton himself!) as well as an exhibit about the women of Wall Street. Learn all about printing and engraving currency and how they fight counterfeiting before you explore their exhibit of successful small businesses!
