Museum of Broken Relationships in Zagreb is a museum dedicated to unsuccessful love affairs. It exhibits personal items left by former lovers, and are accompanied by short descriptions. In the beginning this was a traveling collection of donated items to be eventually settled on a permanent location in Zagreb. In 2011, The European Museum Forum at the ceremony in Bremerhaven awarded the Museum of Broken Relationships prestigious Kenneth Hudson award as the most innovative museum in Europe.
The museum was founded by two artists from Zagreb – film producer Olinka Vistica and Drazen Grubisic academic painter.. The two were in a relationship from 1999 to 2003, and after they broke up did not know what to do with all the stuff they left after the relationship. Later, other ex couples donated their personal items
