A gorgeous park that surrounds the palace

4th arrondissement of Marseille, 13004 Marseille, France

Parc Longchamp surround the palace of the same name in Marseille and was opened in 1869. On the fountain, sculptures of large bulls and three women are placed which represent grapes and vines while the other one represents wheat and fertility.  Behind the sculptures stands a mandmade stone grotto with carved stalactites.

A garden known as the Jardin du plateau is the main attraction here, with many important trees in it including a 150 year old plane tree.

During the 19th century, a zoo was located here and it still contains pavilions for many of the animals, decorated with Turkish tiles.
