The Peko shoes company is one of the oldest brands of Slovenian shoes established in Tržič. The factory has been manufacturing and trading stylish leather shoes since 1903 and has survived through the changes of time.
During the interwar period, Peter Kozina managed to open about 50 other stores. The factory helped the development of industry in Tržič and around. Many residential buildings were built in Pristava (a village nearby) for the factory employees.
Nowadays, Peko still produces beautiful, comfortable and stylish leather shoes for women and men.
The Peko factory in Tržič is also an outlet, which means, there will be more choice of shoes at better prices. Peko also creates unique pairs of shoes, style, and colors, for fashion shows. These pairs of shoes are sold afterward at a very good price, but they are only available in the outlet in Tržič and they are handcrafted for a specific size only: the model’s.
During the Šuštarska Nedelja (the Sunday of the shoemakers), a popular fair in Tržič that is organized on the first Sunday of September, the Peko factory and outlet has mega shoes sales – and a tour of the shoes production line is also offered to the public.
