The Railway Museum is technical – traffic museum located in the administration building of the Serbian Railways in Belgrade. The museum was founded, on 1 February 1950, under the Ministry of Railways Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Three years later, on April 30, 1953, opened the first permanent exhibition, which was entitled “Through the Yugoslav Railways history”. Museum has a permanent exhibition, a gallery, library and archives. The museum’s business operates in three divisions: museum and conservation department, archive and documentary department, library department. As the aim of these services, the museum boasts a large number of exhibits in entering and various books, as well as a large fund of archives. In the museum there are interesting models and miniatures. The Railway Museum has about 40,000 items, divided into four main collections: technical collection, historical collection, art collection, collection of applied arts.
