The Fishermen’s Bastion is a striking Gothic-style structure located on the banks of the Danube river. It acts as a terrace with towers and offers an incredibly beautiful view of the city of Budapest along with the river because it is located on top of a hill on the Castle district in Buda.
It was built with the main purpose to provide the best views of Budapest in the 19th century. Its construction began in 1895 and it was finished by 1902.
The name of the structure comes from the fishermen that protected it during the middle ages.
A stroll through the Fishermen’s Bastion is a must while in Budapest and the perfect place to admire the sunrise or the sunset. There is a café on the terrace to add up to the already-amazing experience that is just looking out the balcony.
