The Kandel is the highest mountain in the Middle Black Forest and lies between Waldkirch and St. Peter. Its height is 1,241m. Stunning deep and distant views, rocks and streams, idyllic Black Forest farms, lovely meadows and forest wilderness: Kandel the Bergland is characterized by an exceptional variety. This mountain is a popular destination for rock climbers and has numerous routes that are suitable for both the beginners and advanced climbers. Besides rock climbing, paragliding in the district of Waldkircher Heimeck also attracts thousands of tourists. In winter, ski lifts and cross-country skiing are also available for winter sports enthusiast.
