A quaint town in the Swiss border

Tirano is a town located in Northern Italy, right at the border with Switzerland. With less than 10,000 inhabitants, the town does not receive as many visitors as other bigger towns in Italy yet it is worth a visit if you are near the area due to its quaint streets, amazing mountain views and delicious cuisine.

Tirano’s main attraction is the Madonna di Tirano, a Catholic shrine built in dedication to the appearance of the Blessed Mother who is said to have ended a pestilence.

How to get there

From Milano, you can take a train to Tirano for 11 euros
