Situated in the middle of Zurich, high over the rest of the bustling city is Urania Observatory, a public space observatory since 1907. It also happens to be a favourite watering hole for many locals and tourists so it can get busy. This place provides an excellent view during the day or night and you can savour a drink while looking on the roofs while enjoying views of Zurich as far as the eye can go. The Uranius Observatory offers guided tours and use of the telescope for users to star gaze at the solar system, moon and stars. They also do special events for groups as well as educational tours for schools. If you are going in the winter months, just know that the place is not heated so dress warm.
