Waldkirch is a beautiful town in Baden-Württemberg region, located fifteen kilometer northwest of Freiburg im Breisgau.
The word “Waldkirch” means Forest Church in English, however, the town is mostly famous for its mechanical organs. Even today, mechanical musical instruments are built in Waldkirch Organ workshops.
In 1997, Waldkirch was honored with the Federal Prize of Tourism and Environment and was officially recognized as a health resort. This town is an amazing place for mountain bikers, hiking and many other sports activities.
Other points of interest in the town include The Catholic Church St. Magarethen, The Ruin of the Kastelburg, and the market place.
