Zeleni vir (Green vortex) is a resort and a protected natural reserve in Croatia, near Skrad. It was promulgated in 1962 as reserve and is located at 302 meters above sea level. It’s very interesting geomorphological and hydrological phenomena. There are several hiking and mountain trails. In the reserve is also a 800-meter-long narrow canyon Devil’s Passage and Cave “Husbands house.” At the creek, a building contractor Josip Loncaric after World War I built a smaller eponymous hydro power plant, which gave electricity to the whole region Gorski Kotar. This famous tourist destination is endowed with the exceptional beauty. In the forests around Zeleni vir live various forest animals like: deer, wild boar, bears.

How to get there

Highway Zagreb- Rijeka, exit Ravna Gora and continue by road to Skrad and Planina Skradska where leads path to Zeleni Vir
